I will be starting a series of intensive workshops that concentrate on specific aspects of painting. Earlier this summer I conducted "Capturing Light in Oils" at IS 183 in Stockbridge MA, a five day workshop where we explored the basics of representing light in paint. In the following months, I will offer similar intensive sessions on:
Composition
Color
Drawing in Paint: Perspective, Proportions, Edges etc.
The Technical Side: Stretching Canvases, Mediums, Glazing, and Framing etc.
Portraiture/ Figurative Painting
Plein Air Landscape Painting
Capturing Light
The workshops will include slide lectures to illustrate the topic at hand, demonstrations and class exercises. We will conclude each class with a review and a critique.

Composition - October 13 - 17, 2008
Color - November 3 - 7, 2008
Workshops will be held in my studio in Great Barrington, MA from 10 to 4. The cost for a 5 day workshop is $500. Class is limited to ten students.
I am also assembling a painting trip to France for next spring.
